Each summer, from the first Saturday in June to the last Saturday before the Cassia County Fair, the Oakley library provides a summer reading program for all children pre-school age through graduated sixth graders. This program includes activities as well as incentives to continue reading throughout the summer.
We have had a lot of fun in 2009!!
OAKLEY LIBRARY received 84 new children's books from THE LIBRI FOUNDATION 'BOOKS FOR CHILDREN' grant. With the library paying a co-pay of $350, 84 new books valued at $1413.39 were sent to the Oakley Library. Hal Berenson & Laura Ackerman generously donated the funds for math and science books. Ms. Suzanne Drnec also donated generously making possible this grant. Come to visit the library and see the new selections in addition to all of our collection. We appreciate the Libri Foundation for making it possible for the Oakley Library to receive many new children's books for our collection.
